Weird Epiphanies!

A funny before talking about unfunny stuff.

Yesterday was a cluster-you-know-what. We did the PriceSmart run for all our gringolandia stuff the husband eats but I mostly cannot eat. But I can fill up on veggies, fruits and fresh meats for me there. My husband considers french fries and mashed potatoes veggies enough.

He's been sick with the flu, I am recovering from the same mixed with my bouts of crazy low blood pressure so our dear friend drove and we just sat back. The husband slept, I did not, I spent the drive hanging onto the overhead strap terrified we were going to crash. Friend drove like a turtle, too close to the side of the road with people whipping around us on the left and right, people drive crazy here.

Not long into our drive I noticed something -- that dust was being whipped up by the extreme Papagayo winds. The winds have been wild the last few days. Mix high winds with crazy commercial land clearing everywhere. Looked something like this:

Well, crud, I cannot find my photos of Arnal in dust or the dusty day during fire season I've taken. Just know if I post a photo like the one above of a firey orange sunset or that looks dusty what you are looking at is flying dust in the dry season. Right now it's the worst I've ever seen. As we drove past the graders and heavy equipment tearing up the mountain sides going through Huacas for more gringolandia housing I didn't get my usual anaphylaxis reactions.

What happened is my blood pressure tanked, I lost all ability to think, balance, or do. So now I wonder if all the bouts of low blood pressure I am having are a different presentation of my systemic mastocytosis. I felt fine before hand. I'd been rushing about scrubbing the bathrooms and windows the day before I felt so well sealed in the house without dust. So I struggled through the rest of the day with low oxygen levels and low blood pressure, came home and hit the bed. Felt slightly improved after a 13 hour sleep. Stepped outside because the husband was talking to our son, outside for a millisecond and got hit with it again.

If it makes your teeth feel dusty after a minute it's likely not safe for you if you have this crap. Inside, going out to water at sunset wearing a mask for the dust.

I hate this. I hate how limited it makes me sometimes. But I feel happy that I finally put two and two together. Gawd, I am so clueless sometimes! All this time I thought it was because I discontinued my two diet cokes a day, thought it was a caffeine reaction. But today I will treat myself kindly. It's a day to clean my sealed from the outside master suite in clean dust-free air conditioned splendor! Running my hepa filter in the living room/kitchen all day.

Well, lick-a-chicken, it looks like the first plume of the Saharan Dust just swept this area and there's lots more behind it.
